Sailing the High Seas
In Dark Age of Camelot, it is possible to own and operate your own boat. There are several types of boats, which can be bought with either gold or bounty points. The following NPCs will sell you a boat, with the frontier NPCs requiring bounty points and selling the largest variety:
| REALM | ZONE | NPC |
|---|---|---|
| Albion | Oceanus Hesperos / Forest Sauvage | Shipwright Higuel (Atlantis) / Calesta (Frontier) |
| Hibernia | Oceanus Hesperos / Cruachan Gorge | Shipwright Tonwena (Atlantis) / Terilen (Frontier) |
| Midgard | Oceanus Hesperos / Uppland | Shipwright Maik (Atlantis) / Kharne (Frontier) |
Note that shipwrights can be found at the docks of every Haven within Atlantis, the ones in Oceanus Hesperos are just the closest.
The following type of boats are available:
| TYPE | PRICE | FEATURES |
|---|---|---|
| Skiff | 500 Bounty Points or Gold | Standard boat, 8 person capacity, full speed when solo |
| Scout Boat | 500 Bounty Points | Standard boat, 8 person capacity, full speed when solo |

| Warship | 5000 Bounty Points | Large boat, 24 player capacity, 2 light & 2 heavy siege weapons, full speed at 12-man crew |
All ships share the same maximum speed when manned by sufficient crew members.

To apply a customization to your ship, left-click the paint or bowsprit to pick it up and drop it onto the ship in your inventory.
Note that customizations are only visible outside of the frontiers. Within the frontiers, your boats will have their base appearance with a sail representing your realm.
To launch your ship, simply enter the water and pick up your ship from your inventory and left-click onto the body of water. It will ask you if you wish to drop it, click yes to put your ship into the water.
Your ship will not disappear from your inventory, so do not worry about picking it up again once you are done. It will remain where you left it until you log out or place it anew somewhere else.
To start sailing, you just click on the ground in the direction you want your boat to travel and it will automatically move towards its destination.
There are several commands you can use for your boat:
| “/vset [Closed/Private/Group/Guild/Battlegroup/Realm]” | Sets permissions for who is allowed to take up a spot on your boat |
| “/vinvite [name]” | Invites a player onto your boat |
| “/vboot [name]” | Boots a player from your boat |
| “/vfollow” | Follows your target |
| “/vdestination [x],[u]” | Automatically sails towards the given coordinates within your current zone |
Additionally you can click the Teleport button on your Warmap to sail to any destination available with a white circle underneath it.
Within Atlantis, this same function can be used by right-clicking your boat while you are aboard and pressing the prompts which appear in the dialogue box, for instance [Hesperos Haven].
There are also special locations you can discover to unlock as automatic travel destinations, such as the Melos territory in Mesothalassa. These special locations are, as of writing this guide, bugged and do not work.
Unlike in the frontiers, you do not need to write “/disembark” to leave a boat within Atlantis. Pressing space will leave the boat, same as if it were a horse.
