Earning your Champion Levels
Become the King's Champion and earn fame, glory and some extra hit points.
The King’s Champion
One of the few secondary paths to power that made it over from Live to Eden are Champion Levels (“CL“). On Eden you can reach Champion Level 10, granting you an addition 20 Hit Points per level and 1 Champion Level skill point to spend on a variety of basic skills from other classes.
An easy way to gain a quick 5 Champion levels is to do the quest “The King’s Champion,“ available from, you guessed it: The king.
To begin, simply head to your realm’s capital city and find the NPC called Royal Guard with <Throne Room> underneath their name and talk to them to enter the throne room. They can be found at the following locations:
In Camelot, the throne room is situated next to the Hall of Fellows.
In Tir na Nog, the throne room is within the castle to the west.
In Jordheim, the throne room is within the assembly hall.
Once in the the room, head straight until you find the king and talk to him to begin your quest. If this is your first time talking to the king, several quests will be available but the one you are looking for is called: “The King’s Champion – Into the Halls.“
This quest will take you into demon-infested halls in order to slay the mighiest of demon lords who are plotting to seize control of the land.
Alternatively, if you are short on time, it is possible to forego speaking to the king and simply heading straight into the demon halls and picking up the quest directly from the following NPCs:
| REALM | LOCATION | NPC |
|---|---|---|
| Albion | Brimstone Caverns | Anataeus |
| Hibernia | Caves of Cruachan | Keeper Garran |
| Midgard | Halls of Helgardh | Keeper Iraeda |
All three dungeons have a very similar layout of one large main corridor that circles back to the start. Along the way are several side passages, some of which contain higher level enemies which, if your battlegroup so desires, can be killed to fulfill the requirements of the quest “Of Diamonds and Demons.“ Many groups will do these two quests simultaneously. Other side passages will lead to the five bosses each realm need to kill before finally heading towards the final boss, which resides in its own instance accessed further into the demon halls.
Brimstone Caverns
Caves of Cruachan
Halls of Helgardh
As you can see on the maps, each realm enters the dungeon a short distance away from the central intersection. When ready to start, head up to the intersection from the entrance and go either left or right and continue in this direction, occasioanlly turning down a corridor to a boss room, before returning and moving towards the next.
With a battlegroup of around two to three full groups, most bosses in here will not pose much of a threat to you and can simply be zerged down. A dedicated tank with healers in their group is of course preferred. Have the ranged members of your battlegroup stack up close together as well for easy healing and to deal with any adds that might spawn or join in the fight.
Do take care to clear out the initial adds within the boss rooms methodically, as they can complicate things if left unchecked.
Eventually, your battlegroup will find its way back to the central intersection near the entrance. Once here, continue down the narrow passages opposite the entrance until you reach a grand central chamber, containing a copy of the boss Legion from Darkness Falls (“Mini Legion“). If you have had no problems getting here, then simply rush down Legion and once he is dead, enter the portal he was guardian to be transported to the final boss’ room.
NOTE: People frequently get disconnected when teleporting into the final boss’ room, so make sure people have time to log back in before starting the final boss fight.
Once you are in the final boss’ room, clear out the enemies on the narrow path towards the center and take care not to get too close. Town portals can be placed within this zone, should your battlegroup wipe and have to run back.
Within the center is the final boss:
| Albion | Azazel |
| Hibernia | Crom Cruiach |
| Midgard | Utgard-Lok |
Each of these bosses have similar mechanics: Around 15% percent of health they lose, they will summon a shade one of the previous five dungeon bosses with identical mechanics to the real version. It is imperative that these shades are given priority over the boss and killed as fast as possible, as continued damage to the main boss will result in several shades appearing simultaneously. The final boss cannot be killed while there are shades alive, so make sure that everyone, except the main tank, knows to switch their target to a shade.
Should your battlegroup be successful, upon returning to the king and turning in your quest, you will be rewarded with five scrolls, each of which will award you with one full Champion Level. Simply right-click a scroll in your inventory to make the tooltip box appear and then write “/use“ in chat to gain your Champion Level.
NOTE: Champion Levels are gained just like regular levels; by simply earning experience. If you do not wish to do this raid, there are other ways of gaining Champion Levels, like simply grinding them out or by doing Writs & Bounties.
