Warden
THE PRESERVER
AVAILABLE ON: Eden, Blackthorn, Live
While the Druids sit in their groves and commune with the spirits of the land, it is the Wardens of Hibernia who take the road and deal with the plights of nature with a more hands-on approach. Formed in the wake of the Celts’ war of conquest against the dark faerie queen of the Unseelie Court, the Wardens were to assist the Firbolg and the newly initiated Celtic druids with restoring the land and shaping it in a harmonious manner with the Celts’ expanding of their towns and cities.
Wardens are a heavily-armoured support/fighter hybrid, with access to heals, strong passive group-wide buffs, weapon skill and the Shield skill line, which makes them a powerful stabilizing anchor in any group.
PvE:
Wardens are strong but slow in solo PvE. They will rarely need rest but have low damage, making for a very safe but extended solo experience.
In groups, Wardens shine. They bring a strong suit of passive buffs for the entire group, requiring minimal management on the Warden’s behalf save managing power levels, as their buffs will expire should the Warden run out of power. They are capable healers, serving as great assists or backups for the group’s Druid healer and can even grab wayward enemies with relative safety due to having access to both Shield and Parry skill lines.
RvR:
Wardens are average-to-poor solo duellists. With high specialization in weapon and shield skill lines, they are capable of dealing decent damage but will be left without their strongest buffs and heals. They have the greatest chance of winning in battles of attrition but those are relatively rare.
In RvR groups, Wardens are powerhouses of back-line healers/supports. Your primary job as a group’s Warden is to do whatever is necessarily to stabilize your group, which can be an arduous task during the opening clash of battle. Curing Poison, Disease and Nearsight* and providing extra healing as needed. Managing power levels will be crucial as if you completely drain your power pool, all your passive group-wide buffs will disappear, leaving your party incredibly vulnerable. Due to having access to the Shield skill line, Wardens are capable of peeling for their fellow back-line members should it be required.
