Vampiir
THE STALKER
AVAILABLE ON: Eden, Live
The hidden foot-soldiers of a forgotten horror walked freely among the Hibernian populace for thousands of years, all the while none suspected the dark legacy that their friends, neighbours and sometimes even family hid. Millennia ago, long before the arrival of the Celts, a beautiful woman known as Leanansidhe served the Seelie Court. Driven by extreme curiosity, she began to experiment on both the different races of the land and those from beyond the Veil. Elven travellers and dignitaries to the Courts were plucked from the road and taken to secret chambers where they were experimented on, their very essence torn apart for Leanansidhe to study. What she learned would eventually produce several monsters, one of them being the bloodthirsty Vampiir. Eventually, the Elven gods and the Seelie Court had had enough of Leanansidhe’s vile experiments and sought to end her cruelty. Fleeing their wrath, she vowed to remain hidden until all had forgotten her transgression and letting her creations walk the land freely, their corrupted blood mixing with that of the general populace and breeding ever more horrors-in-waiting until the day Leanansidhe would return to claim her army. She eventually chose to reveal herself to the Shar queen and positioned herself as the queen’s advisor. She orchestrated the Shars emergence in Hibernia and followed the queen into an audience with the gathered leaders of Hibernia, intending to strike at them all with her hidden army. She would gather as many Vampiir as she could and offer them as soldiers to the Hibernians. However, she had miscalculated. In her long exile, the blood of her creations had become too diluted for her to control. She had unwittingly aided her enemies and descended into madness, cursing gods and men alike before fleeing the realm, never to be seen again.
Vampiir are a lightly-armoured hybrid rogues, wielding a dagger or rapier in one hand so as to leave their other hand free to perform magic during combat. Vampiir have a strong emphasis on positional combat and access to a vast array of debilitating spells and self-buffs. Vampiir are unique in that they do not naturally regenerate power. Emphasizing their vampiric aspect, they have to instead connect melee hits in order to gain power for their spells.
PvE:
Vampiir are strong in solo PvE, both while levelling and farming materials. They suffer when fighting several enemies at once but in one-on-one engagements they will always emerge the victor and are able to engage enemies in rapid succession.
In groups, Vampiir are primarily damage dealers who can also be capable off-tanks if geared decently and specialized correctly, with possible access to physical and magical resistance self-buffs, Parry and Evade increasing self-buffs and a Fumble de-buff which they can apply to an enemy.
RvR:
Vampiir are strong solo duellists, owing to their many self-buffs and unique de-buffs which are especially crippling against enemy melee fighters. Due to their unique mechanics and many abilities to manage, they are one of the higher skill ceiling classes in the game, with a lot of power management and optimization of ability use involved.
In groups, Vampiir are primarily damage dealers, with strong anti-melee de-buffs. Their armour de-buff allow them to initiate burst phases in melee focused groups, and their Fumble and effectiveness de-buffs allow them to cripple enemy melee fighters.
