Where there is now a beach on the eastern edge of Faraheim was once a rock wall. The morvalt tore it down when they heard the call of the Mother, their all-mighty deity. Spurred into a frenzy, their whips tore flesh from the backs of their tradklan slaves, some morvalt even joining in with the effort, tearing at the rock with claws.

When the wall fell and the great ocean before them was revealed, the morvalt rushed out to sea, dragging their slaves with them, most of whom were too tired and bloodied to survive the swim. After many hours, they arrived on the island only to find a massive half-buried skeleton poking out of the earth. The morvalt, fearing that the skeleton was that of the Mother, began attempts to commune with the spirit.

Meanwhile, Iron Dwarves from Iarnwood heard the collapse of the great rock wall and sent scouts to investigate. When they saw the frenzied morvalt running out to sea, they followed in pursuit on their griffons.
