It was here that the ancient Romans spent the majority of their time defending against the ancient Highlanders, known as the Picts. There were further incursions into the far north of Albion but none would see last as long as Hadrian’s Wall.
Today this land is once again a battlefield. Not only do Picts still fight against the Britons, angry at their subservience to their ancient Roman enemies as well as their cowardly cousins who have thrown their lot in with the southerners. Now dragonships and currachs make land with ever increasing intensity.
