Avalon City
THE LEGENDARY CITY WHERE EXCALIBUR WAS FORGED AND ARTHUR DREW HIS FINAL BREATH
Nicknamed “the City of Apples” due to the great orchards that surround it, it is now nothing but a ruin, it’s shining walls brought low by Morganna le Fay and her Drakoran allies.
In days gone by, it was here that Excalibur was forged. Some say it was Merlin himself who commissioned the sword’s forging, others that it was merely him who was tasked by some unknown force to place the sword within the stone, in anticipation of Arthur’s coming.
Arthur would only visit this magical place once in his life. Following the Battle of Camlann where Arthur was mortally wounded in his fight with the betrayer knight, Mordred. Though Arthur managed to strike down the villain, the wounds he sustained were too severe to survive without magical intervention. Merlin, seeing his dying friend on the field of battle, transported them both away to Avalon City in a desperate bid to save his friend’s life. It would however be to no avail and within Avalon City did King Arthur breathe his last. If Arthur spoke any final words to his friend is not known, for the last and only words that Merlin spoke before he disappeared from the realm were those cursing fate and damning prophecy.
Not long after did the dead start to rise and the skies darken with the beating of great wings. No one knows what now lurks within the bowels of Avalon City, for none lived to tell the tale of its fall.
