Ashen Isles
A BEAST OF LEGEND STALKS THIS LAVA-BLASTED HELLSCAPE
If you were curious of what the last Atlanteans might have seen as their doom was approaching, it might look like the Ashen Isles.
Nothing grows here anymore, with life being limited to only the hardiest of creatures and only calcified trees are left to as a reminder that this land was once lush.
Minotaurs are found in abundance here. It seems their tough hides can withstand the intense heat as well as the salamanders. How they got there though, is not currently known. Were they exiled from their labyrinthine home beneath the ground? Or did they perhaps come here to undertake the trials as well? Whatever the reason, they are not keen others interrupting their works and those few who have managed to get close enough to their metal forge-fortresses report sounds of chanting coming from deep within. What sacred rites they are performing no one knows but the chanting is only interrupted by mighty roars in the distance.
