Earning your Epic Armour (Midgard)

Step-by-step guide to getting your Epic armor on Midgard in Dark Age of Camelot (Eden)

Once you reach level 35, you are able to begin the first part of your epic armour quest-line, a three part quest-line which will reward you with a full set of armour with decent stats and a unique appearance inspired by your class.

Parts two and three will be available to you at levels 40 and 45, respectively.

All three parts will be given to you by king Eirik in his throne room in Jordheim.

Part 1: The King’s Quest

After picking up the quest from the king, head to the nearest Channeler and select Bjarken. Once there, head inside the large building in the back of the town and talk to Avang. Avang will instruct you to kill the Mysterious Messenger hiding out in the ruined houses just outside of town to the northwest.

The Mysterious Messenger was not carrying any important missives. Murgluk in the northwest corner of Gripklosa Mountains might know something. Head north through the snow covered valleys until you reach his watchtower. Take care on your journey as Murgluk’s tower is deep in Morvalt territory.

Murgluk informs you that you were too late and that the Mysterious Messenger has already delivered his three missives to the Morvalt. Slay the nearby Morvalt Beskydda until all three missives are accounted for. Make sure that you have space in your inventory for the Sealed Parchments.

Once all three Sealed Parchments are in your possession, return to Bjarken, either by running back down or by using your personal bind stone, and give the stack of Sealed Parchments to Avang by left-clicking them in your inventory to pick them up and then left-click on Avang to give them to him.

Avang will ask you to kill Snofrid in Yggdra Forest. Head outside and talk to Stor Gothi Tarnat and have him send you to Godrborg and from there, use the teleport stone to travel to Arvakr Faste. Exit the keep and head southwest, down towards the river’s edge to find Snofrid standing near a tree at the riverbank. Mind the wolves, bears and arachites as you make your way there.

When the wench is slain, return to Arvakr Faste and teleport back to Godrborg. From Godrborg, have Dagny’s Apprentice teleport you to Jordheim and return to the king’s throne room to receive a cloak as your reward.

Part 2: The Realm Calls:

King Eirik sends you off to Knarr to speak with Edla Lettson in the lighthouse next to the docks. Channeler Sidral outside the throne room can send you straight to Knarr. Once there, speak with Edla, who will task you with killing 20 sjoalfar in the far southeast corner of the Munin Sound.

Head straight east across from Knarr, swimming through the ocean while being mindful of the enemies on the large island in between Knarr and your destination. Once you arrive on the eastern tip of Munin Sound, slay 20 sjoalfar and then make your way back to Edla Lettson in Knarr. Either swim or use your personal bind stone.

Edla Lettson will then ask you to kill Melechan Vezian, an Avalonian wizard who is hiding out in Odin’s Gate. Descend the lighthouse and talk to Stor Gothi Carnoid and have him send you out to Godrborg and from there, use the teleport stone to travel onwards to Bledmeer Faste. Once there, exit the keep and head straight west and across the river until you reach a small bandit camp. Melechan can be found in their company. If he is not there when you arrive, he should re-spawn within ten minutes or so. Keep your wits about you, as enemies from Albion and Hibernia could be lurking nearby.

Once the renegade wizard is slain, return to Bledmeer Faste and teleport back to Godrborg, and from there have Dagny’s Apprentice send you to Jordheim to once again see the king and claim a belt as your reward.

Part 3: The Final Trial

For your final test, king Eirik orders you to Hagall, to speak with Abjorn Onefoot. Channeler Sidral outside the throne room can take you there. Once you arrive, you should see Abjorn straight ahead, in the open-faced house in front of you. He is the dwarf clad in black leather with a red cloak.

Abjorn will task you with killing 10 Hrimthursa Warriors near the Tuscaren Glacier in Delling Crater. It is a long journey, fraught with dangers along the way, so stay alert. You will be heading north from Hagall, all the way across Faraheim and all the way across Delling Crater until you finally face the frost giants outside their glacial home.

When ten of the brutes lie dead at your feet, you must journey a short ways west-southwest to find griffon frostwings. Slay the flying menaces until you have gathered five of their eggs. Many of them will be flying high and may be out of your reach. Search around the rock spires and climb their roosts to get within range. The eggs are not guaranteed to drop and you may be here a while depending on your luck. Make sure to have a free space in your inventory in order to be able to receive the eggs.

When you have the eggs, return to Abjorn in Hagall and give him the eggs by left-clicking them in your inventory and then left-clicking on him. Once his hunger is sated, he will task you with killing the Eye of Arawn in Snowdonia, a part of Albion’s frontier. There are several ways you can get there:

The safest is also the most time-consuming and involves you buying a boat to Caer Benowyc from one of the docks in Midgard’s frontier and, once you arrive at your destination, diving down deep underwater and following the river which travels the length of the frontier until you reach Snowdonia.

Alternatively you can take a boat to the coast of Albion and follow the mountain wall south for a stretch before turning east and cutting across most of Snowdonia.

Whichever way you choose, talk to Stor Gothi Illdane in Hagall and have him send you to Godrborg. From there, choose your method of transportation and make your way to the southeast corner of Snowdonia.

When you arrive at the Arawnite camp, the Eye should be near the central stone watchtower on the small earthen ridge around the camp. If he is not there when you arrive, he should re-spawn within ten minutes or so. Once the beast is dead, head towards Caer Hurbury and let the keep’s guards kill you. You can then safely release without loss of experience or constitution. Back in Godrborg, talk to Dagny’s Apprentice and have her send you to Hagall to report in with Abjorn Onefoot.

Abjorn will task you with acquiring the Sacrificial Skull from the Morvalt altar on the island of Modernagrav. This will not be an easy task and from here on out, you will require at least a small group with a dedicated tank and healer. Exit Hagall and immediately turn right, then talk to Korlis, the iarn dwarf stablemaster, in order to get a griffon ticket to the Iarn Dwarf Outpost in east Faraheim. Once you land, take care not to anger the residents of the outpost with your presence. Swiftly talk to Minerva the stable master and get another griffon ticket to Modernagrav. When you land, make your way north-northeast until you reach the large dirt mound surrounded by palisades and crawling with Morvalt.

Approach the skull at the top of the mound methodically, many of the Morvalt present are spell-casters and will require interruption or crowd controlling. Once the top of the mound is clear, have each member of your group pick up the sacrificial skull one-by-one until everyone has quest credit. The skull cannot be picked up while in combat. Once it is done, leave the mound and use your personal bind stones to return to Jordheim and speak with king Eirik in his chambers.

The king will order you to travel back to Hagall and from there enter the Iarnwood to the east and then south. Here you must seek out the dread spirit Vasrem and slay it. Vasrem can be found in the far southeast corner of Iarnwood. Getting there will be no easy feat, as behind every rock and tree hides enemies great and small. It is a very long journey so keep your wits about you as you travel. With skill you can cut straight across the zone diagonally, otherwise you can stick to the northern and then eastern zone walls to get there relatively unscathed.

Vasrem itself does not have any special mechanics, requiring merely a tank to absorb the hits and a healer to keep the tank alive while the damage dealers do their job.

Once Vasrem is dead, return to king Eirik in Jordheim and he will give you your reward: A full set of epic armour, with a unique appearance based on your class.
