Druid

THE PROTECTOR

AVAILABLE ON: Eden, Blackthorn, Live

Druids have existed in Hibernia since before the arrival of the Celts. In ancient times it was the Sylvan who first brought their teachings to the Firbolg of Hibernia, before theyreturned back to HyBrasil. When the Celts arrived and freed the Firbolgs who had been taken as slaves by the dark faerie queen of the Unseelie Court, the Firbolgs shared the art of the Druid with the Celts as thanks for their freedom.

As Hibernia’s premier healing class, Druids hold the lives of their companions in their hands. They are required to remain cool under pressure, pushing out healing without wasting power and making sure they do not get caught out of position. The last one is particularly important, since Druids will generally be the first target that enemies will attempt to take out, since upon death, all provided buffs by the Druid will expire instantly and severely weaken the Druid’s remaining group.

PvE:

When playing solo, Druids who specialize in the Nature skill line, will be given access to powerful pets, which will make the levelling or questing process much easier*.

*On Eden, Nature Druids also get access to a basic healing spell, reducing downtime and allowing the specialization to be played in group content while levelling as well

In groups, you will get your first taste of what it takes to keep a group alive. Your efficiency will revolve around being able to manage your power usage. Learning to predict incoming damage, choosing the most efficient healing spell and not panicking are skills you can easily practice in PvE groups before heading out into RvR.

RvR:

Running solo as a Druid in RvR is not a highly rated experience but can be attempted if so desired.

As a Druid, you will frequently be the enemy’s primary target, since not only will they remove a healer but also cause every buff that you have applied to disappear. Thus, it is imperative that you keep yourself safe and communicate with your team, so that they can give you the breathing room required to keep your team alive.

In addition to the standard healing triage, you will also be required to determine which effects, such as disease, poison or resistance decreases, you can afford to cure and which you can’t. Typically, a resistance decrease hitting a team member would indicate that they are about to take a large amount of damage.
