Hello folks, I want to quickly cover two topics:
Taxes on Subcriptions
The Merch Store
Taxes on Subscriptions There have been questions about the taxes associated with the $15 dollar subscription. These taxes are based on your location and aren't something we have control over. We collect whatever the additional fee is and then file it to the local tax authority. We're only keeping the $15 (USD) portion of that payment. This is standard for all companies that do business in those locales. What may be different is whether or not the company absorbs that cost. We're charging $15 dollars. We're not operating at a scale at which we can easily absorb those costs ourselves. Other companies may be able or willing to do this, but in return for not having a box price, microtransaction, paid boosts, and other ways of making up the lost revenue, we're keeping the subscription price - and our cut of it - as it is. We have discussed whether region specific pricing makes sense for us and whether we can manage it without introducing the potential for exploits, a poor cost-to-revenue ratio, etc... For now, it's going to stay $15 converted to whatever that ends up being in your local currency. We get that this may mean that some of you will elect not to play. This is unfortunate, but we understand.

Merch Store We're about to activate the Merch Store. When it goes live, it is only going live for the USA at this time. We're only able to process payments on merch for US customers. This differs from the subscriptions due to how those payments and associated taxes are being being handled. Our 'merchant of record' for foreign transactions is able to handle the subscriptions but cannot handle the sale of physical goods. We are working with other companies to get this resolved. The ETA on processing payments for merch outside of the USA is unknown at this time, but the process is underway. We're just as bummed as you are because we want all of your money - not just the Americans'. But it didn't make sense to make the USA wait on the rest of the world, because things get weird when you make the USA wait. On that note: the merch shop is new for us. Things may get weird. We'll keep an eye on things and if necessary, we'll shut it down should we see something go sideways. Stay posted for updates on that front. And a couple final comments regarding merch:
Keep an eye on shipping when you add things to the cart, it does add up for some goods
Just like the taxes on subscriptions, we don't get any of that shipping money
The items are liable to be imperfect in different ways, so we'll keep an eye out for feedback and iterate
Your imperfect item is potentially a unique snowflake, so cherish it like you cherish our time together
