Enchanter
THE ETHEREALIST
Everything within this guide should ultimately only be treated as suggestions, as there are many ways to play and I encourage you to experiment and find your own playstyle.
AVAILABLE ON: Eden, Blackthorn, Live
The only inhabitants of Hibernia able to summon forth the warriors of the secret “Underhill,” the secret realm beneath the ground, hidden within the Veil, on the border of the material plane and the Otherworld. It is also from these hidden allies that Enchanters have learned the magical arts with which they enhance their Hibernian brethren and debilitate their enemies.
No other spell-caster who also has access to a pet, has as much destructive capabilities as Hibernia’s Enchanter. With Light Magic to devastate singular opponents, Mana Magic to bring devastation to whole armies and Enchantments to turn their pets into unstoppable forces.
PvE
When levelling solo, the Underhill Companion can be your biggest friend, since it is a spell-caster with a single spell which damages and snares the enemy. This will make it easy for you to kite any mobs that survive your initial barrage.
Enchanters are central to almost all PvE levelling groups. Specializing in Mana Magic gives access to not only devastating point-blank area-of-effect damaging spells but also powerful concentration-based damage reflecting shields for your pet, allowing it to reflect large amounts of damage while being used to pull and tank enemies.
In groups, simply wait for your group’s tank to gather the mobs up in a ball and then unleash your point-blank area-of-effect spells on them.
RvR
While not the strongest duellist class in the realms, Enchanters do have a few notable spells that allow them to win some battles. A movement speed buff and a pet are their two biggest boons when it comes to surviving an encounter with the enemy. Depending on their chosen skill line, they will also have limited access to de-buffs such as attack speed and damage de-buffs from Light Magic* and resistance de-buffs from Mana Magic.
*On Eden, a single-target attack speed de-buffs is also available in the Mana Magic skill line.
In groups, Enchanters bring devastating damage as well as some utility. The pet being one but the most important being the de-buffs to the enemy’s resistances from the Mana Magic skill line. You will be required to put this de-buff on the priority target of the group, so that your fellow spell-casters can more easily destroy the target. Your pet should be used to add more pressure onto the enemy’s back-line and generally be a disruptive nuisance.
