Cabalist

THE ESOTERIC SCHOLAR OF ALBION

Everything within this guide should ultimately only be treated as suggestions, as there are many ways to play and I encourage you to experiment and find your own playstyle.

It was the retinue that travelled with Sir Palomides back from the southern deserts which first brought the arts of the Cabalist to Albion’s shores. Said to be the magic of slaves and concubines, Cabalists learn the magical arts of mental destruction and breathing live into inanimate protectors, who will seek vengeance against any who have wronged the Cabalist.

Cabalists are the disruptors and disablers of Albion. In addition to their pets, they have a wide variety of spells focused on de-buffing, crippling or otherwise hampering the enemy. As a Cabalist, you should make sure that your pet is disrupting the enemy back-line while you make sure that disease other spells weaken the their frontline.

PvE

When solo, you should either let your pet tank while you support it or focus on kiting groups of enemies while your area-of-effect damage-over-time spells whittle them down.

In groups, depending on your chosen specialization, you will have a variety of helpful spells, such as being able to transfer a portion of your own life into a friendly player, should an emergency require it. Your main concerns are to debilitate the enemy before providing supplemental damage.

RvR

A Cabalist’s most crippling spells are their Nearsight spells, which reduce the maximum range that spell-casters and healers reach, up to a 65% reduction. This will effectively force the enemy back-line closer to the fighting, assuming they do not have the capacity to cleanse the Nearsight de-buff while dealing with everything else going on.

Secondly, Cabalists should make heavy use of their Disease spells, which reduce healing received, movement speed and strength.

To properly apply these de-buffs, positioning is key. Nearsight has one of the longest ranges in the game but will still require speed and precision to successfully utilize before the enemy closes the distance. Similarly, inflicting Disease on the enemy frontline before or after (as the situation demands) casting Nearsight requires you to keep yourself safe during.

Knowing when to use your resistance de-buff will also be key to success for Cabalists and require good communication skills.
