Domnann

Domnann is the largest forest on the island of HyBrasil. It is where the Sylvan capital city of the Grove of Domnann is situated, deep in the old growth forest. When the Sylvan returned from their quest to gather aid from the mainland of Hibernia, the spirits of air and water guided them throuhg the mists that eternally shroud their island and saw them safely returned to Domnann.

The first members of the expedition to HyBrasil was amazed at the wonder of the forest of Domnann. Nowhere in Hibernia was there such a deep forest, that was also home to so many magical creatures. The only place in Hibernia that could compare was the Cursed Forest but even that paled in comparison. The expedition members were greeted on the riverbanks by an assembly of Sylvans, who had heard the coming of the people of Hibernia on the wind. In attendance was also all manner of creatures, with shrouders and sporites flying overhead, tame forest grazers carefully observing, and all manner of living plants swaying in silence.

Within the Grove’s mighty walls, the true scale of the problem facing the Sylvans was revealed: A third of the island’s ancient woodland had already been clear cut by the ancient enemy: The Fomorians. Malformed monsters who live deep under both earth and ocean. Now they have surfaced in numbers not seen since their banishment by the Tuatha Dé Danann and seek to enact vengeance on gods and men alike. Legends tell that it was the Fomorians who originally taught the Tuatha Dé the secrets of agriculture. Now they seek to turn the whole world into a field, fed with the blood and ground up bones of all the races of the world, wherein they can grow the next peoples in their image.

With the help of the expedition forces, Domnann was quickly fortified, with the ancient town of Bann Didein reestablished as an outpost from which to observe the lands outside the forest, with eyes fixed on the plumes of smoke in the distance.

Young Sylvans would soon start to hone their skills here, culling invasive species and tending to those fleeing the Fomorians’ destruction.
