OVERVIEW: Eden Seasonal System

Unlike Live or Blackthorn, Eden uses a seasonal system. To many people, especially MMO players who find the consistent world to be a major selling point, this might sound like a major turn off, one that could even prevent them from playing on the server. However, compared to seasonal systems in other games, like Path of Exile for instance, the one found on Eden is relatively mild in comparison.

Here is a quick overview of how Eden’s seasonal system works:

• Seasons are of undefined length and only reset when the population declines enough that it affects gameplay
  • This means that, effectively, as long as no new season has been announced, the game is healthy and thriving, with new mechanics introduced that players enjoy.
• The only things truly lost between seasons is levels, gear, coin, loyalty and housing.
  • You will retain all your realm points, tradeskills and even un-levelled characters between seasons, if they carried over from a previous season. Your realm points will be returned to you once you reach level 50 in the new season. Your housing trophies can be placed in special storage NPCs in order to carry them over between seasons. Your title progress remains.
• It is very easy to reach the requirements for having your character saved and carry over between seasons.
  • There are two ways of making sure your character survives in between seasons: Either reach level 50 or Realm Rank 2L4.
• There is a catch-up system in place where if you join mid- or late-season, you will receive additional realm points to help you reach Realm Rank 5L0 faster.

As you can see, the only thing you really have to do once a new season arrives, is level your character back up to level 50 and acquire a new template, both of which are exceedingly easy on Eden compared to what it used to be like. There will immediately be crafters available and raids constantly will be done as soon they reset.
