Earning your Wise Crafter set (Albion)
The sturdiest shields will keep the defenders of Albion safe against the faithless
Available in each realm’s capital city is a quest-line which will reward any aspiring crafters with a full set of special crafter’s armour. The full set will increase your crafting speed by 50%, strength by 75 and encumbrance by 50%. This will allow you to craft much faster and carry a lot more materials before suffering a reduction of movement speed reduction due to weight.
Note that if you do not wish to complete the quest but still want the crafter set, the set can be available for purchase on the housing market.
Travel to Camelot and once there, head towards the market square on the east side of the city. Near the forge will be Maven the Wise Crafter, who will starts and ends each part of the quest-line. I would recommended setting your “/bind” location in front of him, so that you can easily return here with your personal bind stone after each objective is completed.
Part 1: Gloves
Exit Camelot to the north and enter Black Mountains South and from the north Camelot gate, talk to the stable master to get a horse to Ludlow. Once in Ludlow, get a second horse towards Snowdonia Fortress.
Once you cross the large stone bridge and reach the north side of the river, jump off and head up the western tower.
At the top of the tower, right-click the chest to complete part 1. Then return to Maven in Camelot.
Part 2: Boots
Talk to either of the Channelers opposite Maven and teleport to Fort Gwyntell. Exit the town and head directly west. If you are not high level, take care as you traverse the forest.
Continue west, crossing the river and later the border into Caldey. Take care at the border as Caldey is a high level zone with enemies that are yellow/orange even to level 50 players.
In Caldey, turn north for a short distance and you should see the large ruined tower. Head inside and right-click the Rare Earth Metals at the center.
Return to Maven in Camelot.
Part 3: Helm
Talk to either of the Channelers opposite Maven and teleport to Caer Diogel. Exit the town and talk to Vilmalin on the left to get a dragonfly ticket to Clifton. Do not ride all the way unless you have farmed reputation with the lammia, instead jump off near the river.
Cross river, travelling northwest across Gwyddneau until you reach the ocean. Cross the ocean, again heading northwest, so that when you reach Inishail Island you will be at its northern border.
Follow the northern border of Inishail Island all the way, until you reach the northwestern corner. The dragon egg is sitting on top of a large stone in the corner, behind the ghost of lord Emthoro.
Once you have collected the dragon egg yolk, return to Maven in Camelot.
Part 4: Sleeves
Talk to either of the Channelers opposite Maven and teleport to Caer Diogel. Exit the town and talk to Vilmalin on the left to get a dragonfly ticket to Clifton. Do not ride all the way unless you have farmed reputation with the lammia, instead jump off near the river.
Head into the ocean and swim along it, all the way into the southwestern corner. Take care not to swim too close to share, as it is full of high level enemies.
Once near the tower in the corner with the crashed boats, swim down as far as you can before swimming towards the tower. Underneath the tower, between several large rocks, is a hole in the ground. Down there is the Fibrous Plant you need.
Once done, return to Maven in Camelot.
Part 5: Pants
Talk to either of the Channelers opposite Maven and teleport to either Grimspound or Yarley’s Farm, depending on if you have completed part 1 of the Dragon-slayer quest-line.
Assuming you haven’t, from Yarley’s Farm you should run southeast into Dartmoor and then hug the northern mountains until you reach the bind stone at Grimspound.
From the Grimspound bind stone, make your way south and up the mountain and at the first of the large suspended rope bridge, head down into the valley and turning southeast. Continue in this direction until you reach the large wooden fortress. Circle around it and continue southeast until you reach a large open plain. Turn east until you spot a large gap in the two groups of granite giants. Head between them towards the dragon’s lair and then turn left, going east around the lair. The Pot of Gold is behind the lair itself.
Once you have collected the gold, return to Maven in Camelot.
Part 6: Chest
Talk to either of the Channelers opposite Maven and teleport to Catterick Hamlet in the frontiers. From here, depending on the progress of the Realm War, you have three options:
- Master Vaughan can teleport you directly to Ellan Vannin if the island is not currently designated as “skirmish zone,” meaning it is currently used as a zone for renegades to fight and you will not be able to teleport straight there.
- The portal stone in Catterick Hamlet can send you to Caer Benowyc, or if that is not available, Caer Berkstead or Caer Erasleigh. From Caer Benowyc you can cross the bridge onto Ellan Vannin.
- No matter which boat you buy, from any of the docks in the frontiers, it will pass by Ellan Vannin in some direction. Use “/disembark” near any of the bridges or docks to make your way onto the island.
Once on the island, keep a sharp look out for enemy players as you make your way into the southwestern corner of the island’s inner area. When you reach a burned down town, ascend the tower and right-click the chest at the top.
To easily leave the frontiers, jump from the top of the tower three times to suicide. Then click the Release City button or use the “/release city” command to return to Camelot.
Once there, talk to Maven the Wise Crafter one final time.
