Bonedancer

THE SPIRIT OF BOGDAR

AVAILABLE ON: Eden, Blackthorn, Live

When the servants of Bogdar pull the bones of the dead from the ground, they do not beg or plead with their master for assistance, they merely hum a sacred tune and the bone-song stirs bleached and calcified remains to move and reshape. By coaxing the ancient forces of life to reawaken, the undead servants of the Bonedancers arise more capable than other minions of the afterlife, retaining enough memories of their mortal life to be able to command their undead retinue.

Bonedancers are capable of summoning several minions, however only the commander will answer the Bonedancer’s commands, with any lesser minions summoned* only taking orders from their undead commander. Should the commander perish, the lesser minions will perish as well.

*Up to a maximum of 3 lesser minions, with the max level of these minions varying per server. Max level of 45 on Eden, Live and Uthgard, 37 on Blackthorn.

Bonedancer spells are largely oriented towards applying pressure on the enemy, rather than dealing devastating amounts of damage quickly. This is mainly done through strong de-buffs or area-of-effect damage-over-time spells.

PvE:

Bonedancers are amongst the strongest solo classes on Midgard. The Bone Army skill line provides powerful buffs for your pets, which allows them to mow through enemies with incredible speed while the Bonedancer focuses primarily on healing the minions. The Suppression skill line is generally safer but slower, with the Darkness skill line falling in between.

In group play, you are there to focus on dealing damage while also maintaining de-buffs.

RvR:

Bonedancers specializing in the Suppression skill line can be quite strong in solo play. They will have great sustain through instant cast life-drain spells, as well as lesser minions who are healers, in addition to a wide variety of de-buffing spells.

In group play, Bonedancers must keep a closer eye on their pets than most pet focused classes, since such a large amount of damage comes their pets. Losing the commander is all it takes to essentially remove 4 sources of damage and pressure on the enemy team, so take care not to send them into the fray early or into situations where they can easily be dispatched or crowd controlled.

Maintaining an overview will also help the Bonedancer to best recognize where to apply which de-buff, where to cast area-of-effect damage-over-time spells, etc.
